Kurt's nine uncle's and his dad were veterans: Russ, Robert, Don, Harold and Pete served in WWII. Hank, Gordon, John and Bill were involved in the Korean conflict. Kurt's dad, Kent, also served with the Army during Korean conflict.

Kurt has a degree in Industrial Arts Education and spent most of his career assisting multinational corporations to increase sales via technology and the Internet.

Kurt lives with his wife Deb in the City of Florence, Oregon and can be found in the pool swimming laps most mornings at 5:30am.
