Military Museum Fall Happenings

The Oregon Coast Military Museum is pleased to share two fun fall happenings in Florence.

A phenomenal wood carved eagle donated by Heffy Gallery of Florence is being raffled off currently. This amazingly detailed wood-burned carving is made of myrtle wood and driftwood. Only 160 tickets are being sold for this beautiful piece of art valued at $800. This piece by artist Dan Heffron, who’s gallery is located at 37th and Hwy 101, is a prime example of his motto “Best Wood Carvings on the Coast”. Tickets at $5.00 each are available during open hours at the Museum located on Kingwood Street.

To celebrate Halloween, the Museum is offering free admission on the 31st to anyone who appears in costume, or in uniform! Volunteer Judith Turk suggested the fun approach “I always like to dress in costume for Halloween and that’s a day I’m on duty, so it should be a lot of fun for both us and the Visitors!”

The Oregon Coast Military Museum is located at 2145 Kingwood Street in Florence, and open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, from noon until 4:00 p.m.
