7th Annual Festival of Trees Event

The 7th annual Festival of Trees will be held November 30 and December 1 at the Florence Events Center. In keeping with this year's theme of "I'll Be Home for Christmas," organizers have added a special feature called the Veterans Hallway of Heroes which gives community members an opportunity to honor a veteran who has served or is currently serving in the U.S. armed forces. Submissions are $25 per honoree and may include a photograph, name and rank of honoree, branch and dates of service, duty stations and deployments, as well as a personal message. Entry forms are available at FTS Computer Services, located at 1431 Bay Street, right next to BJ's Ice Cream in Old Town. Deadline for submission is November 22. Submission forms are also available online.

Placards featuring honorees for this first Veterans Hallway of Heroes will line the entrance of this year's Festival of Trees and be on display throughout the two-day event. The Festival of Trees is produced by the Oregon Coast Military Museum, a 501c3 nonprofit. All proceeds from the Festival go directly to support the museum's ongoing efforts to continue its legacy of honoring all military through education.
